Mail Art

This summer I did Mail Art with one of my Online Art Groups.. I love Mail Art. It's fun pretty fast to do and this way I get to send my work out to friends in different states and countries.

Sometimes we put some extra little things inside so it's like a RAK Random Acts of Kindness.

Here are the envelopes I sent out.

Hello,
Please be patient.  I just have been gathering some really nice mail art from my friends. Will put them up here this weekend..

Bought some stamps today.. I feel like I went to an Art Supply Store and got carried away. Some really nice stamps out there.

Support your local Post Office, especially those in small towns like I live in. I must admit I do pay some bills on line and I could get all of my postal needs on the website..... but I love the idea of walking outside to my box, getting some air and receiving mail. Besides, for some people, it's a social meeting place. I meet people I haven't seen in a while and it's so nice to catch up on life.

Enjoy life!

Hello Again,

I just found a way for you to leave your comments... If you click on the word comments a pop up page will come up.
Hello,

So this is a short note to tell you that I am still figuring out a few things about the comment box. I have received e-mails that people are unable to leave comments. I post the setting after I write for a comment box, preview it and it's there... Hopefully it will work this time.. Thanks for your patience and keep e-mailing or putting messages on my FACEBOOK page..

Thanks,
Janine

China Inspiration

Learning how to manage this....

Learning how to manage a blog is quite interesting and exhausting.... I went on to see comments from my wonderful Art Journal group  [Blissfully_Art_Journaling ] and naturally I wanted to thank them. I ended up making their comments disappear.. I finally found a way of re-editing.

Well enough of that.. Yesterday my hubby asked if I had any of the baby bracelet beads around.. He is making one for a customer... I did and what is so cool in my mind is that these are the older type of beads that were Porclin and not plastic.. It was hard to pick out the letters needed, they were all together in a plastic bag. Which comes to my point... I love organizational ideas when they are fast and simple.. As I have tons of empty med containers which I keep lots of things in, push pins, brushes, paper clips, etc. I placed each letter into separate bottles, wrote the letters on the top and now it is sooooooooooo much easier to find.. Then I thought of other uses that must also come to your mind. I use them when my flowers are down to one or two to put in a med bottle on the windowsill. Painting them and using as a mobile, a stamping tool or gluing them together as the basis of a sculpture to be covered in all sorts of material..

That was yesterday. Today I have been thinking about patterns. Give me a few hours and I will post some pics I hope you will like and be inspired.

Take Care,
Janine

P.S. Thank You for all your lovely comments

My Very first Blog Tuesday, 1/24/12

Well this is my very first blog and I have some photos to share.. I love the first day when snow falls. Much of the time, I take pictures indoors. I like different colors and the juxtaposition of the details of indoors verses outdoors. Patterns are a very big part of my life and art.
